The New UK Swiss Luxury Replica Tudor Black Bay Chrono Panda Watches

The Black Bay is, without doubt, the most successful collection of cheap fake Tudor. This watch has been instrumental in the resurrection of the brand in the early 2010s. Since its introduction in 2012, this vintage-inspired diver’s watch has been a commercial hit and the collection has been enlarged with multiple complications, in various materials and in a wide range of colours. The collection is a classic for Tudor, mixing modern execution and retro-looking elements, such as the iconic Snowflake hands or signature applied indexes. And in 2017, the brand introduced its first Black Bay Chrono, which caused quite some reactions… A good base for sure, but there was room for improvement. Well, it’s here, with the new editions of the high quality copy Tudor Black Bay Chrono for 2021. And we have a video review of these models too, that you can check on top of the article.

THE BLACK BAY CHRONO… A CONTROVERSIAL PIECE IN A SUCCESS STORY
The Black Bay is like a piece of well-oiled machinery for Tudor. One edition after another, its road is paved with success. And even though the recipe is well-known and the evolutions are most of the time quite conservative – not always, as seen with the 925 Silver edition – it remains the brand’s best-selling collection, by far. But, from time to time, one of the version can cause some discussions.
In 2017, Tudor launched a chronograph based on the Black Bay. Not the first chronograph of the brand, which already has in collection racing-inspired models such as the Heritage Chrono, based on the Montecarlo. So, in order to differentiate this new black dial copy Tudor Black Bay Chrono from the rest of the crowd, Tudor gave it the Black Bay touch with some diving credentials – both in terms of design and specifications. Also, and importantly, this watch marked the beginning of an industrial alliance between Tudor and Breitling, as the movement found in the Black Bay Chrono was (and still is) openly presented as based on a B01 architecture. Nothing wrong with this. Actually, it is something we even applauded back then.

The issue was somewhere else. What caused discussions was the strange mix between diving elements of the Black Bay – the dial, its indexes and the Snowflake hands – and racing features such as the chronograph (even though diving chronographs are far from new) and the tachymeter scale on the bezel. The Snowflake hand, and the way it could obstruct the 45-minute counter even cause strong reactions… More on that later.
All in all, the first generation of stainless steel case replica Tudor Black Bay Chrono had some strong arguments, was a solid base but still was perfectible on some aspects – some of which were totally subjective. A couple of years later, the brand launched a black-coated version, the Dark Limited Edition. Finally, there was also in 2019 a two-tone version of this chronograph, which was somehow announcing the evolution that has been introduced this year, with a black bezel and contrasting sub-counters.

Skip the heavy lifting and go straight to what’s best. Just Get This is our no-nonsense guide to the gear you need, now.

Look, we don’t want to tell you what to do — that’s not our job here at Gear Patrol. But go out and get yourself a stainless steel case fake Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight. Why? Because we sort of think it’s the perfect watch. Not even the perfect dive watch — just the perfect watch.

For those of you who lust after a Rolex Submariner but can’t stomach the thought of paying over $8,000 for one, there’s the BB58 at less than half that cost. For those of you who desire a well-sized watch that’s still legible but doesn’t dwarf your wrist, there’s the BB58 at 39mm. For those of you who wants something you can wear in the water, when traveling, to the office, or maybe even with a tuxedo (shit, James Bond did it once or twice…), there’s the BB58.
For those of you who appreciate fine watchmaking, the BB58 features an in-house Tudor cal. MT5402, which is chronometer-certified. For those of you who like a good old-fashioned steel bracelet, you can get the Swiss movement replica Tudor Black Bay on one of those for $3,800. For those of you who prefer it on a fine leather or fabric strap, you can nab it on one for $3,375. Oh, and it comes in both black/gilt and blue colors.
Do we have to keep going? Fine, we will: here’s more of us waxing poetic on the charms of the BB58, and a few reasons why we think it’s the right watch for you — whoever you are

It’s The Perfect Size
Rolex upped its Submariner to 41mm last year. Whyyyyy. They had such a good thing going. Anyway, the steel bracelet Tudor replica watch is 39mm. 39mm is just like 40mm, but one better. (“It’s one more loud.”) Seriously, though, this is the Goldilocks size for dive copy watches. Throw one on and you’ll agree. I haven’t met a single person who’s tried one on who disagrees. Now if we only get them to make a damned 39mm GMT…
It’s Got All The Fixins
In-house movement, chronometer certified. Matching rivet-style bracelet. Awesome-looking snowflake hands and highly legible design. 200m of water resistance. 70 hours of power reserve. Awesome aluminum bezel insert. Oh, and it also tells the time.

It’s Beautiful
I mean, just look at that gorgeous gilt dial. And if that isn’t enough to get your heart racing, then what about that new blue version? The high quality replica Tudor just gets it. Their design team understand proportion, nuance and restraint, and the result is a watch that only an evil step-parent could hate. (I think I got that metaphor backwards, but you get it. The watch is sexy.)

Line of Succession: Reviewing the UK Cheap Fake Tudor Heritage Black Bay Chronograph

The best quality fake Tudor Heritage Black Bay Chronograph profits from a collaboration with Breitling while drawing deeply from Tudor’s own history. In this feature from the WatchTime archives, with original photos by OK-Photography, we give the watch an in-depth review.
Our photographer appreciates high-quality products that have a story to tell – like his Leica camera that’s been around since 1954, attached to a leather strap from Cyprus that has a unique, well-worn patina. As he’s staging the copy Tudor Heritage Black Bay Chrono for our photo shoot for this review, it occurs to him that he prefers classic objects with no “sell-by date.”

Tudor draws characteristic elements of this watch from models in its past. The curved sapphire crystal and dial recall the first Tudor dive watch. The oversize “Big Crown” is a design feature of the Reference 7924 from 1958, the first Tudor replica wristwatch to be water-resistant to a depth of 200 meters. The water resistance is printed in red on the dial of this watch, just as it was on historical models. And the new model’s “snowflake” hands are like those on the Tudor wristwatches that were supplied to the French Navy in the 1970s. History also connects the new fake Tudor Heritage Black Bay Chrono Ref. 79350 with the world of motorsports – represented here by the chronograph with its fixed tachymeter bezel, which has been a feature of all Tudor stopwatches. Tudor introduced its first chronograph, the “Prince Oysterdate,” equipped with an ETA/Valjoux 7734 movement, in 1970.
This new model’s movement is the result of a collaboration with Breitling. The two brands are now sharing expertise in the design and production of mechanical movements with the aim of developing more in-house capabilities. Using Breitling Caliber B01 as a base, Tudor has installed an in-house regulator with a silicon hairspring – a joint patent of Rolex, Patek Philippe and the Swatch Group – and then placed its own rotor on top. Tudor calls it the MT5813 caliber and it has been certified by the COSC as a chronometer. (In turn, Breitling is using Tudor’s MT5612 caliber as a base movement.)

Tudor clone has made another technical modification to the original base movement. Like its first chronograph, the subdial at 3 o’clock has a 45-minute range instead of the usual 30 minutes.
The Big Crown sits inside a long tube. After releasing the screw by turning it counterclockwise, the crown jumps out for the purpose of manual winding. It can also be easily pulled into the correct positions for quick-date adjustment and hand setting, and then returned securely to its screw-down, locked position.

The date mechanism is designed for quick and easy date correction. When the watch is running, it advances to the next day precisely at midnight. It makes a strong impression in black and white at 6 o’clock. The resulting omission of a luminous dot here and at 3 and 9 o’clock is no problem, since the remaining eight glowing dots and the triangle at 12 o’clock, along with the substantial hands, make it easy to read the time day or night. The chronograph function of Tudor copy with stainless steel case retreats modestly to the background during the day and disappears at night.

But this is all black?! Let’s be honest, the perfect fake Tudor Black Bay 58 with its goldilocks 39mm size is probably the best example of the red triangle inspiration, an amalgamation of MIL-spec Submariner and a classic vintage Tudor.

39MM Replica Tudor Black Bay Dark Watch

But we all know what the 58 looks like, so here’s the broody darkness of the 1:1 best replica Black Bay to sex things up. In all its menacing blackness, this is a damn cool 41mm Rolex family case, and what a way to emphasise that red triangle.

Waterproof Fake Tudor Black Bay Dark Watch

Don’t get me wrong, I love the original look of pure brushed steel, but this makes those two red details Pop (yes, with a capital “P”). The case finish is as exquisite as expected, the DLC is among the hardiest on the market, so this is a damn tough tool and a nice way to stand out from the 58 crowd.

UK AAA Quality Replica Tudor Black Bay 41MM Models Still Sell Well In Stores

While I may argue with said individuals, plenty of forum posters and Instagram commenters claim that 39mm is too small for them – and only caters to puny wrists. Personally I find this complete blasphemy, but for the sake of word count I will not get into this rant now – and ultimately if it is not my money or wrist then it’s not my decision.

Stainless Steel Fake Tudor Black Bay Watch

Sure the perfect fake Black Bay Fifty-Eight watches are highly sought after, with likely waiting periods before purchase, and respectable resale values over retail pricing secondhand. But I think we can all agree that we still see Black Bay 41mm watches in the wild. The larger Black Bay models have more variants to choose from when you think about it. Yes, the dials are mostly black (with a few exceptions), but there are more bezel configurations than the two available in the BB58 line and the BB58 has yet to be fashioned in bronze (currently only used in larger 43mm Black Bay Bronze watches) or PVD-treated steel. Also, don’t forget, the in-demand Harrods Black Bay 41mm is the closet Wilsdorf-produced alternative to an aluminium Kermit in the marketplace today.

Black Dial Fake Tudor Black Bay Watch

Another example of Swiss made replica Tudor and 41mm being a success is their wildly best replica Black Bay GMT watch, that is as equally scarce (if not more so) than the BB58 in store. With a lug to lug of 50mm, the issue with 41mm models in the catalogue has arguably never been about case diameter or even lug to lug – but we’ll get into this more in a second.

Deep Black: Testing the UK Fake Tudor Black Bay Dark For Sale Online

A black replica watch is perfect for diving in deep dark waters, and it looks great on dry land, too. In this feature from the WatchTime archives, we test Tudor’s popular model in its recently launched all-black version: the Heritage Black Bay Dark.

Over the past several years the black bezel fake Tudor Heritage Black Bay has grown into an important and attractive watch collection. It was launched in 2012 with a retro-look model in stainless steel with a red dive-watch bezel, followed in 2014 by a more reserved version with a blue rotating bezel, and then one year later with the simplest version so far, in black.

Tudor set off a new round of reworks in 2016 with the introduction of the Heritage Black Bay in bronze, in a 36-mm case, and with an ultra-sporty completely black version. Plus all new and existing Heritage Black Bay models will use the in-house MT5602 movement instead of the ETA 2824, which was previously used. (The MT5602 was introduced in 2015.)
A wide range of different straps and bracelets continues to add variety. Each watch comes with either a three-row stainless-steel bracelet or an antiqued leather strap, and a fabric strap is always included with either option. The boldest choice is the 36-mm 2016 Tudor model with an “urban camouflage” fabric strap.

The watch we tested has a black, brushed PVD-coated stainless-steel bracelet that matches the case. While the dial has a matte finish, the rotating bezel stands apart with a shiny aluminum track. The fact that the ring is not made of ceramic, and is therefore susceptible to scratches, is rather difficult to overlook in a watch that costs more than $4,000.

The 41 mm copy Tudor Black Bay Dark’s sturdy and functional in-house movement has minimal decoration.
But an entirely positive feature is the movement, especially in light of copy Tudor’s traditional values of precision and sturdiness. This little brother to Rolex meets initial expectations by ensuring the inspection of every movement by COSC, the official Swiss testing institute for chronometers. In addition to other criteria, COSC certification requires that the watch’s average rate deviation remain within -4 and +6 seconds per day.

Our test on the electronic timing machine confirms this precision. However, in contrast to the official test, we also tested the sixth position, crown right, which revealed a minor outlier in the minus range. While this position is rare during everyday use – it occurs only when raising the wrist to read the time – it is essential for people who store their self-winding watches on watch winders because many of these machines might leave timepieces in a vertical position during rest periods that can last several hours.
Various technical properties of the “Movement Tudor” MT5602 fulfill the second part of the brand’s philosophy: sturdiness. First of all, the robust nature of the 6.5-mm-high movement ensures that no functional problems will occur due to minor tolerance variations. Secondly, the balance is not supported just on one side by a cock but instead lies completely straight and secure beneath a bridge. And thirdly, the silicon hairspring ensures that no deviation in rate will occur in the event of a disturbance or impact resulting from centering errors or deformation.

Additional quality features of the manufacture movement include the long, 70-hour power reserve and the variable inertia balance with four regulating screws. The rate is no longer regulated by changing the active length of the balance spring, as was the case when the Heritage Black Bay had an ETA movement. Even though Swiss movement fake Tudor used a different fine regulator in the ETA 2824, a stable variable inertia was possible only with the switch to its in-house movement.

The watch’s link bracelet ends in a functional folding clasp and safety lock.
The brand has invested very little effort or cost in decorating the movement, which is consistent with the philosophy of providing reliable watch technologies at a reasonable price. Mechanical watch enthusiasts who may be driven to open the fully threaded caseback (with the correct tool, of course) will discover minimal decorations, limited to a skeletonized and brush-finished rotor engraved with the Tudor name.

Tudor has omitted a date display for the Heritage Black Bay Dark, which we see as a positive change. This sports-design watch follows in the tradition of the Tudor Oyster Submariner of 1954, which also had no date display; its clean, unadorned dial simply has eight round and three rectangular hour markers and one triangular marker at 12 o’clock. The striking hour and seconds hands with their distinctive “snowflake” shapes can be traced to the second Submariner generation, which was presented by Tudor in 1969. The watch’s water resistance today is 200 meters, as it was in 1958. This was an impressively high value at the time of diving pioneers and remains sufficient for most recreational divers today.

In this way, the cheap fake Tudor Heritage Black Bay Dark unites the best of various classic models – now in the casual black outfit of a very trendy sports watch. It’s the coolest way to dive – not to mention the best way to bring diving history into the beach bar.

Reviewing the UK Cheap Replica Tudor Heritage Black Bay Chronograph

The aaa quality fake Tudor Heritage Black Bay Chronograph profits from a collaboration with Breitling while drawing deeply from Tudor’s own history.
Tudor replica draws characteristic elements of this watch from models in its past. The curved sapphire crystal and dial recall the first Tudor dive watch. The oversize “Big Crown” is a design feature of the Reference 7924 from 1958, the first Tudor wristwatch to be water-resistant to a depth of 200 meters. Tudor calls it the MT5813 caliber and it has been certified by the COSC as a chronometer. (In turn, Breitling is using Tudor’s MT5612 caliber as a base movement.)

Tudor has made another technical modification to the original base movement. Like its first chronograph, the subdial at 3 o’clock has a 45-minute range instead of the usual 30 minutes.
This layout is not problem-free. On the one hand, the counter is quite small, and on the other, the large square at the end of the snowflake hour hand occasionally blocks the recessed subdial. This also occurs with the small seconds display, which is located across the dial at 9 o’clock. But it is still sufficient for a function check – and the chronograph can be engaged if this presents a problem for the wearer. The vertical friction clutch makes this possible and also prevents the hand from advancing suddenly or jumping when the chronograph is started.

Our rate tests showed that the watch rates are approximately the same whether the chronograph is engaged or not. And if we had to point out a fault, it would be that the rate occasionally falls into the minus range. Still, the watch will run for days with virtually no notable deviation.

And there’s something else that affects the timing function: in order to guarantee the water resistance of the watch to a depth of 200 meters, two screw-down pushers have been placed next to the crown (as on the first Tudor chronographs). It’s necessary to unscrew both as far as possible before the chronograph can be started. Operating the pusher also requires a great deal of pressure to overcome rather stiff resistance. The hack mechanism and restart are much easier, and the reset function has a very precise pressure point.

When the replica watch with Swiss movement is running, it advances to the next day precisely at midnight. The chronograph function retreats modestly to the background during the day and disappears at night.
Our test piece came with a stainless-steel bracelet, similar to the ones on Tudor models from the 1950s and ‘60s. It is easily recognizable thanks to the prominent rivets connecting the links, which are arranged like steps – another detail from past designs.

Each watch also comes with a denim strap, a trademark of the Heritage collection. The fabric is woven using 19th-century Jacquard looms by a 150-year-old French company. The method of manufacture is unusual and the feeling on the wrist is extremely comfortable. But our photographer preferred the alternate strap made of brown leather, which matched his handcrafted wallet.

REVIEW: Cheap Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight Navy Blue Fake Watch UK

In 1958 Tudor introduced their first divers’ watch, water-resistant to 200 meters/660 feet. It was reference 7924 also known as the “Big Crown”. This is where the modern Black Bay Fifty-Eight (BB58) derives its name.
The Black Bay Fifty-Eight line as a whole pays homage to the brand’s first divers’ watches. However, in 1969, Tudor introduced a divers’ watch with a blue dial and bezel. Other sports watches in their collection soon followed suit, immediately creating a lasting aesthetic hallmark known as “Tudor Blue”. Adopted by the French Navy during the 1970s, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” follows in this tradition with its navy blue dial and aluminum bezel insert.
Already seeing much success with the original fake Black Bay Fifty-Eight in 2018 — largely due to its faithfulness to vintage Tudor and Rolex Submariners — the latest blue version is poised to sell similarly well considering it builds on existing BB58 demand and ties in the historically significant Marine Nationale shade of blue.

Stainless Steel Fake Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight Navy Blue Watch

This is the watch in for review, the perfect replica Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight Navy Blue Ref. 79030B-0003 with a manufacture caliber MT5402. The caliber MT5402 is certified as a chronometer by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) and is a 4Hz automatic movement with a bidirectional rotor system (that winds in both directions), and has a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. The movement has a thickness of only 4.99 mm, the main reason for how slender the watch is.
The screw-down winding crown displays the Tudor rose and like its predecessor is water-resistant to the same 200 m/660 ft. The bezel is steel and is rotatable unidirectionally with a 60-minute graduated insert in matte blue anodized aluminum with silver gilded markings and numerals. A domed sapphire crystal protects the dial. Applied hour markers and Tudor’s signature “Snowflake” hands complete the neo-vintage aesthetic. As was its 1950’s counterpart, the modern model offers a stainless steel case 39 mm in diameter — keeping the characteristic proportions of its predecessor (more on that later).
The BB58B was shipped for review paired with Tudor’s blue and white striped fabric strap. Interestingly, the strap looks like a Nato style strap but is actually engineered to have spring bars pass through it so it sits as a quasi single pass strap. This allows it to have a Nato look but a standard buckle and tail finish, having no extra length of strap to fold over as you would find on a traditional Nato-style watch strap. The material has a tactile feel and in this configuration, the watch weighed in at 76 grams and with a retail price of $3,375 as shown.

Fake Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight Navy Blue Watch For Men

I decided to give the navy blue BB58 a true test of wearability and authenticity to a watch whose DNA it’s emulating: my 1992 Tudor Submariner Ref. 79090. As a side note and a topic for a whole other article, I refer to watches over 25 years old as “vintage.” For insurance and registration purposes, the age of a classic car in most cases must be at least 20 years and when I polled the Instagram #watchfam a few years back, 25-30 years old to be considered vintage was the overwhelming consensus, so, therefore, I’m considering the 79090 as “vintage.”
Dimensions between the modern Black Bay 58 Ref. 79030B and the vintage Submariner Ref. 79090 are strikingly exact. In fact, the only measurable differences lie in that the vintage submariner has crown guards where the BB58 does not and in case thickness. Before all the purists and anti reissue collectors groan over these subtle differences, they are both misleading. In measuring the case diameter of the vintage Tudor minus the crown guards and crown you’ll find it’s the exact same 39 mm as the BB58.
The other difference, as mentioned, is in case thickness. If you’re a watch nerd like me (and if you’re reading this, there’s a pretty good chance) one would naturally think this means the modern BB58 is going to be the thicker of the two. However, we must dissect further. The 79090 without the crystal measures 10 mm versus the BB58 at 11 mm. Deceiving once again because the thicker top hat acrylic crystal of the vintage sub makes the thickness dimension the same 13 mm as the modern BB58 with its 1 mm thinner sapphire crystal. All other measurements are precisely in line with each other. Both have a lug to lug distance of 47 mm, a 39 mm case diameter without crown, and the same 43 mm with the crown. They also both use the watch collectors sigh of relief, 20 mm lug width.

Best UK Sale Tudor Royal 41 & 38 Replica Watches Automatic Online

When Rolex’s sister brand Tudor returned to the United States (and UK for that matter) in 2013, the brand did not take its entire collection with them. Instead, Tudor in the United States was almost exclusively a sports watch brand (the Tudor Style-reviewed here-was not a major commercial success) with emphasis mostly on the wide Black Bay collection as well as the Pelagos tool-style watches. A number of perfect fake Tudor watches remained exclusive to other parts of the world. Now in 2020 Tudor launches an updated Prince Date-Day or OysterDate watch which has been turned into the “Tudor Royal” family.  The new collection of integrated bracelet watches is now available around the world, and helps bring a major part of the Tudor brand experience out of its almost exclusive previous existence in the Far East.

Tudor debuts a series of over 50 Tudor Royal watches between four case sizes and a series of dial and material options. For men, the Tudor Royal 41 (28600 series) mm and 38mm (28500) are of interest, while it is worth noting that for women a 34 (28400) and 28 (28300) millimeter size option is also available. The Royal can be interpreted as the Tudor version of the Rolex Datejust or the Day-Date-depending on the version. Since Tudor’s original debut in the mid 1920, the brand has been a lower-cost alternative to Rolex. Often Tudor models have mimicked Rolex analogs in name, style (or both). More recently Tudor has expanded beyond that with more original models (such as the Pelagos for example). With that said, a major part of the Tudor business model is to offer lower-cost alternatives to Rolex watches. As such, Tudor watch prices more or less top out where Rolex watch prices start. So compared to a Rolex Day-Date or Datejust, the Tudor Royal is a real bargain.

The male fake watch is designed for men.
Blue Dial Fake Tudor Royal Watch

The Swiss made replica Tudor Royal for 2020 falls neatly inline with the watch industry’s new fetish for integrated bracelet watches. Not that such watches are new, but there is a belief that consumers want them – so we are starting to see more and more timepieces with a bracelet design that is integrated with the case. When done right, a case’s lugs smoothly transition to a bracelet which elegantly tapers down a bit. That’s exactly the case with the Tudor Royal… and they do the visual trend real justice.

In addition to steel, Tudor also offers two-tone steel and 18k yellow gold versions (28603/28503 series) of the Royal. For the latter, 18k gold is used for the notched bezel, crown, and some of the bracelet links. The Royal comes with four dial colors for men, including black, blue, silver, and gold-toned. Indeed, not exciting colors in an era where lots of luxury watches are adopting bright colors, but Royalty as always been conservative by nature… Tudor does however offer some dial options with partial diamond-set hour markers to compliment the other full Roman numeral marker dials.

These quality replica Tudor Royal watches are water resistant to 100 meters-the same as the Rolex Oyster case. The bezel design is Tudor’s answer to Rolex’s admittedly fancier fluted gold bezel. The Tudor notched bezel looks similar at a glance, but use a more basic machining technique to achieve its visual effect. In fact, according to watch collectors this bezel design is probably the most controversial element of the Royal and the other previous Prince or Tudor models which bore this bezel style. In fact this might be the first time such a bezel design was paired with the Tudor Royal name-which has been on hiatus for quite some time I believe. Given that “Tudor” is the name of the historic British royal family, and the brand has had a number of “courtly” names-“Tudor Royal” and “Tudor Prince” more or less feel like the same moniker.

The mother-of-pearl dial fake watch is designed for women.
Fake Tudor Royal Watch For Women

While some Tudor watches contain in-house made Tudor automatic mechanical movements, the Royal watches will again feature Swiss Made ETA movements. The larger of the models is the Tudor Royal 41mm, and it is the only of the new Royal watches to feature a Date-Day (Tudor’s traditional way or writing Rolex’s “Day-Date” name) complication. It uses an ETA 2834 automatic movement while the Royal 38mm has just the time and date and makes use of an ETA 2824 automatic movement. Both of the movements operate at 4Hz with about 38 hours of power reserve.

Price is on Tudor’s side, as even the two-tone versions of the Royal are pretty affordable by comparative standards. What has yet to be seen is if Tudor’s legion of Black Bay fans (the Black Bay is often touted as an ideal entry-point into high-quality Swiss Made sport watches) will also take to the dressier guise of the Royal. My inclination is that while the Royal watches are pretty nice, Tudor will find appeal with different types of timepiece consumers than those who jumped on the Pelagos and Black Bay bandwagons.

Tudor will also likely be able to claim better case and bracelet quality as compared to much of the competition out there selling at similar price points. Watch collectors have in general not always been the biggest buyers of Rolex’s Datejust and Day-Date models-preferring their sport watches more often than not. I believe the same is true with Tudor, where enthusiasts gravitate toward sport watches while the “luxury lifestyle” models such as the Date-Day (before the Royal) were for more general luxury consumers. That is a shame because watch lovers do miss out a lot when not considering these otherwise excellent models.

Editor’s pick: This story concludes with the author, Yannick Chan, saying “I’m really excited to see where Tudor replica is headed with the Fifty-Eight line. We will, no doubt, see a blue, burgundy, and *fingers-crossed* a GMT version of the watch in the near future.” One out of three came to pass in 2020, with the Navy version. It’s given rise, of course to lots of comparisons between the OG, this model and the new. We thought it might be useful to hear from a pretty devoted fan. There’s no review like an owner review, after all.

Being a Tudor enthusiast (or, for lack of a better word, a bit of a fanboy), the Black Bay Fifty-Eight was the watch that really caught my eye amongst the new releases from Tudor at Baselworld 2018. Yes, like everyone else, I love the look and functionality of the Black Bay GMT, but being more of a vintage watch guy, the size and retro design of the Fifty-Eight really appealed to me. I’ve been dying to get my hands on the watch ever since, and I guess I wasn’t the only one. Just like the GMT, the Swiss quality fake Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight has been an instant success for Tudor, and if you’ve tried looking for one, you’d know that it’s near impossible to find one available to purchase, let alone at anywhere near retail price. When I was fortunate enough to get one, my expectations were sky-high and I’m glad to say that the Fifty-Eight did not disappoint.
My first impression was … that the Fifty-Eight is one of those watches that looks great in photos, and even better in the metal. Not only does it look the part, it also feels extremely well-made and like it could take its fair share of abuse. The dimensions, overall proportions, the feel, the satisfying click of the bezel, it all just … works.
Once I put it on it felt … familiar, in a really good way. I used to own a first-generation Black Bay with the ETA movement, burgundy bezel, and leather strap. I loved the way that watch looked, but I really didn’t wear it much. It was too big, too chunky and not very versatile. Whilst the Fifty-Eight looks and feels very similar to the regular Black Bay, it comes in at a perfect 39mm diameter and wears superbly on the wrist. It is a watch that is so comfortable you’ll forget you have it on.
Looks-wise … the steel bracelet replica Tudor Fifty-Eight has definitely got vintage appeal. It takes inspiration from Tudor’s “Big Crown” Submariner, which was released in, you guessed it, 1958. With the gilt details on the dial, rose gold markings on the bezel, red triangle surrounding the lume pip, and the riveted bracelet, the Fifty-Eight offers a modern watch with vintage charm. An embossed rose on the crown and an uncoloured crown tube complete the picture and make this a really clean, refined and elegant Black Bay.
What stood out to me … was just how big a difference a few millimetres can make. Compared to the 41mm version, the case of the Fifty-Eight is not only smaller and thinner, but it’s also more curved and tapered. The caseback is slightly raised, the lugs are more closely spaced, and the bracelet is a touch thinner. These small adjustments result in a huge improvement on the wrist, and although it’s only a few millimetres here and there, let’s not forget that Tudor also designed a whole new movement for this watch.
I’d wear this with … a suit, day in and day out. Yes, it is a dive watch, but how many of us really go diving on a regular basis, or at all? I spend the bulk of my week in a suit, sitting at a desk, and the Fifty-Eight is the perfect everyday watch for me. It’s an understated, fly-under-the-radar type of watch, and the gilt and rose gold accents give it a subtle and classy touch.

If I could change anything … it would be the clasp on the bracelet in favour of the adjustable clasp of the Pelagos. That’s really nit-picking, though, as the Fifty-Eight is a really neat watch overall.
One month on … I have continued to gravitate towards the automatic movement copy Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight when choosing what to wear in the morning. It’s become my daily beater, if you could call it a beater. I’m really excited to see where Tudor is headed with the Fifty-Eight line. We will, no doubt, see a blue, burgundy, and *fingers-crossed* a GMT version of the watch in the near future.
